My Favorite Olympic Figure Skaters

I made this website to share my excitement for the 2026 Winter Olympics and to keep track of my favorite skaters across each discipline.

I’m especially interested in how different athletes strategize to peak at the right time and create compelling personal narratives. More than at any other competition, it is so important for skaters to engage with audiences, as it is one of the few times the general public, not just figure skating fans, will be tuned in.

Below are a few storylines I’m excited to follow, plus my personal winner predictions.

What I'm Looking Forward to in the 2026 Olympics!

  1. The Women's field is deeper than it has ever been. It's anyone's to win!
  2. Ice Dance: Madison Chock and Evan Bates are the favorites, but 2022 Olympic champion Guillame Cizeron just returned with a new partner. Who will take the crown?
  3. Deanna Stellato-Dudek: at 42, is the oldest person currently competing and is on a remarkable comeback journey.
  4. Ilia Malinin: the first skater to ever land a quad axel in history. Will he land it at the Olympics and take home the gold?
